This is another one of those unexpected opportunities to come from Instagram, I mentioned this briefly in one of my recent articles. Basically I was approached out of the blue in January from a publisher in San Fransisco who was sourcing images for the new book by Kai Wong. Once Again i’m ashamed to say I didn’t know who this guy was but I had a little stalk around the internet to confirm all this was not some sort of scam and when I thought it was ok I thought why not. I know, I know, i’m very suspicious but you’d be surprised how much unsolicited nonsense I get on social media, and that’s without a big following so I can only imagine what it’s like when you get to 10k or something.

Anyway I declared it genuine and pursued it further. Turns out for the use of one of my hassy pictures I get 2 copies of the book and i’ll be credited in the credits page. I was rather flippant about it at the time, got it signed and done within the same day as being approached and just thought well that’s nice. Then the same week I had two separate articles printed someone mentions in my comments that they saw one of my images in the new Kai Wong book and i’m like whoa, it’s out?! It turns out it’s up for pre-order to be released in July but they chose the page with my image on as one of the preview pages so i’m well chuffed about it all now, hassy looking all pretty and everything. I’ll probably put more pictures up when I receive my two copies, that’s if they don’t have a heart attack when they find out how much it is to post to Iceland (not only that i’ve just realised i’ll have to pay tax when they arrive as well as the ransom the post office charge to release it so jokes on me really innit). Oh well!
